In my last article I have explained simply what SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is and said that there are 2 types of SEO techniques bloggers should know about; On-Page SEO and Off-page SEO.

On-Page-SEO-Checklists

In this article I am going to should On-page SEO checklist which every blogger has to implement while posting article unless they don't get much organic traffic. While writing I will keep it short and precise.

1. Keep Main Keyword in The Title: this is the first mistake bloggers do while posting that they don't include keyword in the title, so search engine cannot find the post accordingly to show on their page.

From this image we see the title of the post is: “On-Page SEO Checklist- 12 On-Page Key factors Blogger Should Know” and “On-Page SEO Checklist” is my keyword. It would be better if you can place the keyword first in the title.

2. Create SEO Friendly Permalink: did you notice that some of the websites not many use post permalink like “www.abc.blogspot.com/p=156” which creates obstacle to0 the search engines to read the url. The search engines must know your post url to crawl that’s why you need to put keyword and make a SEO friendly url link like” “.

3. Use Interactive Digital Media:  Post with simple and huge text doesn’t keep the visitors longer and the bounce rate increases, but if you use images, videos, info-graphic s and  step by step method  then visitors will stay and your bounce rate will be decreased.

4. Use Outbound Links: from the recent research about search engine ranking factors the SEO expert have found that using outbound links to high authority websites increase the search engine ranking and boost your site’s SEO health.

5. Write Main Keyword within 100 Words: sometimes it’s confusing for the search engines on which topic the article is about, so if you place keyword within 100-150 words, search engines will understand what your page is about.

6. Put Post Title in “H1” Tag: WordPress automatically puts title tag in “H1” tag but check if your blog follow this rule.

7. Use Internal Linking To Other Post: linking to other related post reduces the bounce rate almost 40%, also it has SEO value. So link to other horizontal and vertical post using anchor text.

8. Use Alt Text To Image: As I say that using images bring traffic from search engines and social media, but search engines cannot read the normal text, so use Alt tag using keyword and name the file using keyword too.

9.  Use Social Media Sharing Button: social media present is increasing day by day and more people spend lots of time on social media. Use social media share button to make easy for the visitors to share your content.

10. Write Long Post but Precise and Brief: it’s a paradoxical question. You shouldn’t write a long post which has many irrelevant words and phrase rather write a specific but details so the visitors can get their required information.

This is my On-Page SEO checklist. The readers are welcomed to share their opinion through comment if anything I missed or what do you follow other than this checklist.
